JavaPOS and J/XFS

Hi,
Has anyone done a comparison between JavaPoS and j/xfs? They seem to overlap and we need to choose an interface standard for pin pads\micr readers\receipt printers etc from a Java client.
Not much is around about JavaPos – is this dead?
