Laptop & tcp/ip network transport

One of our laptops is giving a error message on boot when the battery power is very low.

the message states:

TCP/IP network transport is not installed

the header in the dialogue box is:

Mobile Device Properties

When the power supply is plugged in it works ok.

Any ideas/insights into this?

The machine is a Toshiba Portege 7200 on a docking station
