Laptop with Windows 98

Our TIS department supports 20 Toshiba Satellite 220CD laptops. We purchased some New Media Tech. LanSurfer 56k 10/100 PCMCIA Fast Ethernet + Modem cards. We can see the network just fine with these cards but we can’t use the dial-up networking. The modem installed automatically on COM2 (default setting) but the dial-up can’t find it because it is looking at COM1. Is there a way to make it see COM2 or install it on COM1?
