Laserjet 4 Plus printing

I have a Digital HiNote laptop (266 MHZ, 32 MB, 4 gigs) running on Windows 95. I downloaded HP Laserjet 4 plus driver from HP.COM, installed it and tried printing a test page and the printer display panel changes to “W2 Invalid Pers”. Got the samething when I tried printing from Word 97. But was able to print from DOS Prompt with DIR > LPT1. Thanks for any help.
