LexMark Z52 and DOS Printing?

Can you not print to a Lexmark Z52 printer in DOS? Just bought one and I can’t even do a dir >LPT1 It just sits there and does nothing. Prints fine in Windows. Has anyone else heard of this problem with these printers?
