O.K I bought a Linksys router so that I can network my two computers togather and have them both access the internet. I only have my main computer plugged into the port until I can resolve the prob. I have my cable modem plugged to the WAN port. I called the cable company to have them add my routers WAN mac address into there data base, then I rebooted everything several times. I see the routers lights showing my computer, but I have no cable access. I have all the lights on my modem working except for the activity light.
Here is one possibility, but I don’t know the resolution. When I go to Dos Promt, type (winipcfg)I only see my NIC card. I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be seings how I not using my USB port, but how am I supposed to get my router to show itself to my ISP?
Please help me understand this whole thing.
