Live Video Streaming

I would like to setup a live video streaming for an event. I would like to know the procedures involved and the resources needed both in terms of hardware and software.

I already have a site runing but it might not support live streaming. Please recomend a Shoutcast Server that I can use fo this purpose.

Help me out.
