I am working with a client who has Lotus Notes 4.5, and wants to bring names from the address book to a Word 97 Mail merge. A previous consultant created an Access file by exporting the names/addresses from Lotus Notes, but since this process doesn’t provide a dynamic link, it would have to be re-done each time a mail merge is desired. As a result, the Access file has not been used again since it was created the first time.
Looking over the materials I have collected, I am leaning toward exporting the names/addresses to a Lotus 1-2-3 file, which is easily done from Notes, and then, since Excel reads 1-2-3 files, having the Word mail merge link to a converted-from-1-2-3 Excel file. Comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
