Magnified windows elements

What would make all my screens, icons etc. jump to many times their original size? I’ve had a problem with randomly occuring rebooting. Did a clean reinstall of Win98 then had processor replaced.
Nothing has helped. Last time I booted, everything had magnified to the extent that I can’t scroll down/up far enough to even see dialog box options. Any suggestions?
