Maximizing System Unit Speed

I just wanna ask if anyone could give me some tips on how to speed up our school’s unit if we’re going to install Windows 98, Office 2000, and Visual Basic.
Here are our specs:
Processor: Pentium 166 & 200 MMX
RAM : 32 MB
Hard Disk: 2.1 and 4.3 GB
Video Card: S3 – 1 MB
Are there any softwares and guides you can give me. It will be greatly appreciated.
