I have just visited Microsoft Updates and see an update is recommended (but not essential) for my computer which runs Windows ME called Microsoft .NET Framework.
Looking at the notes, I see they say this is suitable for a system with Software requirements for server operating systems: MDAC 2.6
My query is how do I accurately assess which version I presently have (from doing a Search through My Computer, I think I probably have only 2.5) and having assessed which version, do I just trust that Microsoft “knows best” and install this update?
I already have slight problems in that I seem to have about a 2″ square portion of my IncrediMail toolbars (without any icons on it) which seems to appear at times on any web pages visited or even opening files in My Documents – will the above installation compound or cure my problems?
