Missing .vxd files, non-working isdn

by ghandi2 . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

Whilst installing an ISDN adapter, after the drivers were in it then asked for win98se disk for more files – none of which it found.
I browsed cd – no joy, also used find files/folders utility – no joy.
now when i start up im told im missing vnetsup.vxd , vredir.vxd , and dfs.vxd
comp still works tho. then it tells me missing msmp32.dll and some/all of win networking may not work.
56k connection still works but isdn doesnt.
The files it wanted during the install are:
ATMUI.DLL , secur32.dll , svrapi.dll , ISDNUI.DLL , ISDN.HLP , ndis.vxd , ndis2sup.vxd , NDISWAN.VXD , ndiswmi.sys , vnetbios.vxd
Even if i found them – where do i put them as there no option to browse for them during the setup?
if i reinstall windows without format – will i lose all my settings?
help greatly appreciated
