It’s a Packard Bell 833CD. Windows 95
starts up and you see the logo a couple of
times, then the logo goes away and the
monitor goes black. No hourglass.
Nothing.
I cannot start up from the CD. If I use the
startup floppy to start up, the CD drive is
not recognized. The CD drive is not
recognized in Windows Safe mode,
either. So I don’t know how I can reinstall
Windows, which seems like what I need
to do.
It’s possible some RAM has gone bad,
but I don’t have any extra lying around and
hate for the client to buy it if it’s not
needed.
Any ideas?
