I am trying to fix a computer for someone and was told the computer wouldn’t boot up. I checked it out and this PC does not do anything other than the power supply turns on and I hear a few hard drive clicks then nothing. There are no beeps and nothing whatsoever on the monitor. It appears there BIOS is an Award BIOS because Award is stamped on one of the chips on the motherboard. I removed and reseated all cables and adapter cards as well as the memory. While testing all this I noticed that the heat sink fan on the processor does not turn on while the PC is on. My thinking is that the motherboard is shot (the heat sink is not getting power to turn on from the motherboard) and because of this I think that the processor is now probably shot as well. There is no real direct question here, I am just looking for thoughts, suggestions or second opinions on this situation.
