Mouse Driver & Hibernate on Laptop

When my sony vaio 640 laptop goes into hibernate/suspend mode, when I hit a key and it turns back on, the touch-pad mouse does not work. I have to restart the computer to make it work. Anybody encounter this problem and have a fix for it?
I am running Windows ME.
