Mouse hangs and resets.

Running Windows NT4.0 on an IBM 300GL…500Mhz, 128 MB RAM. Mouse hangs suddenly. Not associated with any particular application or screen. When unplugged and plugged back in, resumes working. Event viewer shows that i8042prt is resettimng itself many times throughout the day. This event is recorded even during times when mouse does not hang…but when it does, the event is always recorded. Assigned it as difficult because 3 of us cannot figure out whats going on.
