MS Explorer Limitations

I have a 12 GB HD installed in my Notebook.
In 1 Folder havin 660 Sub-Dirs, 4923 Files, 1,72 GB size I have a slowdown in that Dir, with MS Explorer, that means: left-side the tree of te HD, right-side details of the files. No actve-Desktop enabled. FAT32. Win98SE.
