MS Project resource hours

I am having a problem with the working hours allocated to a resource on a task. I have set the working time to 7.5 hours per day on the calender ie. 9 am to 12, 1pm to 5.30pm. The resource has been allocated 3 days to task but when I look at the at the resource usage it in days (which it want I want) but the time is .97 for day 1 , 1.07 for day 2 and .97 for day 3. Why has this been allocated like this and how do I change it to be 1 for each day. Or even better display it as 7.5 hours per day.The whole purpose of this is to schedule resources (people’s time) and budgeted costs ccross tasks and prepare reports for review.
