Msipcsv.exe problem

I have recently come out of hospital and my memory is not what it was as a result, although it is returning albeit slowly. I am getting constant freezes and the close dialogue tells me that msipcsv has stopped responding. I know this is a system file but I can’t for the life of me think what to do to overcome this problem?
Also, recently I frequently receive the message “Socket Notification Sink has stopped responding” any ideas please folks?
