Multiple hard drives.

Computer:Dell,4100Series(1 yr. old),running Windows Pro.2000.No viruses detected or any downloads in past 7 months.Computer now has(or “thinks”it has 3 C hard drives when we have but the one.)When doing a search for files (or any search option),we get the reading of;”3NewFolders”,”3NewFolders”,”3NewFolders”,at the top of the search application.When pointing to a file,we get the same quotations at the top & bottom of Search.Doing a Mac virus scan had me stopping at over 275,000 files!Can anyone please guide us in fixing,or,at least understanding this problem-short of wiping the drive & reinstalling Windows?Thanks in advance,L.David Keener.
