Multiple NIC Cards & W2K Advance Server

I am trying to make a multihomed computer. I can install one NIC card with no problem, however after I install the second NIC card and reboot the computer it goes through post, but then just stops when it is supposed to load the operating system and says no drives on any type found. I am using a LinkSys and 3COM NIC cards with WIndows 2000 Advance Server. Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong??
