Multiple NICs with 98 and a cable modem

I have a very simple set up. Two Windows 98 machines and a hub.
Machine I has two NICs in it, one for a Cable Modem and one for the Peer to Peer set up. The P2P NIC has an IP assigned to it, while the Cable Modem NIC gets its own.
Machine II can see Machine I in Network Neighborhood but cannot access it. Machine I cannot even see Machine II or itself in Network Neighborhood.
It seems all Network requests all go out though the Cable Modem NIC.
I have turned off the bindings there also…
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
