My PC won’t boot

My PC will only boot in safe mode. Here’s what happened:

I connected my printer (USB) to my computer while the computer was up. When I did, the PC shutoff and rebooted. The printer was not on, and I have had the printer hooked up before.

Now, when I boot, the PC hangs on the Windows ME logo screen. It boots in safe mode.

Any suggestions would be great!
