Need assistance connecting flash drive to 2019 Galaxy Tab A

I was recently gifted a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 tablet. I want to use my flash drives but the micro usb-to usb adapter doesn’t fit the Tab A. What type of connection does the Tab A have? Is it a mini usb-c? Is it some type of propriety connection? Could it be my adapter is damage? Any ideas?
