Netscape Profile Imploded

A client recently deleted an unused profile in Communicator 4.73. To her surprise, none of the remaining profiles work anymore; gone are inbox, sent mail and address book.

She’s searching the deleted files using Norton Utilities and has found text of some of the deleted messages, but no sign of the address book.

(1) Any tips on how to recover the address book?
(2) How does one archive messages and address book in Communicator 4.xx?
