new computer, page cannot be displayed

We just built a brand new pc with AMD Athlon cpu. Finally got the modem working, but now the browser,MSN IE, just comes up “Page cannot be displayed” after it connects. Our copy of Windows 95 has IE 3.2 on it. I loaded IE 4.0 from older modem software, then found we had IE 5.0 on the new modem software. If anyone can help us, we would appreciate it. Thanks
