no red color

I have no red color on my screen.However the color red prints out just fine on the printer. this is with win 98. Have looked at the video card settings in the the machine and they all appear to be fine. Looked at device manager and there appears to be nothing wrong there. On boot up there are no tell tale sounds.

this may not be enough information but please give your best evaluation.
