not detect hd

i want to add new hd in my computer.i’ve already install win98 into that hd (using another pc).when i try it into my pc,it won’t detect the hd.(when i enter to cmos,it hang(got to restart again)).
it’s say pri master hd errors,press f1 to resume.then i follow the instruction,and it’s ask me to insert the boot disk.
then the screen shows “windows 98 has detect that drive c does not contain a valid FAT or FAT32. There are several posible causes.”…..
But when i try it with another pc,there’s no problem.My motherbrd is celeron 300mhz.
Can anybody tell me why and how to solve my problem.
