NT 4.0 and HP5si Printers

What would cause HP5si Printers to delay in removing from NT4 server? Port had been successfully removed and confirmation of delete of printer was answered. Currently, printers can be pinged by name and address outside the site, but no printing occurs within from windows. Users use Win95 OS.
