NT Partitions

I configured some NT 4.0 workstations with two partitions. The active partition was formatted FAT and the 2nd partition was formatted NTSF. The primary partion of one of the workstations had a meltdown, so I reloaded an image onto it from a machine that was basically identical. My problem now is that the second partition (where all the users data was stored) cannot be seen. NT recognizes it as free space (i.e. unformatted diskspace). I need to retrieve the users data… but I’m stuck. I don’t want to format and assign it a drive letter from within NT because I’m afraid it will wipe out the data. Any help?
