Outlook 2000

I add new contacts to Outlook 2000. When I want to send an email, I press “To” then adresss list, and the recently added contacts are not listed. No matter what I have tried I cannot get recently added contacts, to appear in my adress list.
Is their a setting that I am forgetting the click on?
