Partitioning drives

Is there a way to make one large partition to a drive that currently has one 2GB partition and of course the remainder of the drive of 8GB is not seen. Of course I do not want to lose what is currently residing on the 2GB. Sure would be great if I could get the system to see the entire 10GB as one partition.
