Password of Activation on IBM 300GL

I’m trying to activate the power-on password, I tried the basic ways but the password is not save. But if you change other options on the BIOS aside from the password it saves the settings. I already tried resetting the jumper on the board and selecting the loading default settings on the BIOS menu. Any bright ideas. Thanks.
