Password problem

I have a password issue. When I turn on the computer it prompts me for a password I don’t know the password and i am unable to by-pass this. Does anyone know of a way i can get rid of this so i can get into this computer? Possibly go through the Registry?? If so what are the steps?????? Need someones help ASAP! thanx =)
