PC Won’t Boot;3 beeps;nothing on screen

by erikl7 . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

My computer will not boot up. It was
working fine a week ago (the last time In
had it turned on). Then I moved it from
the office to my home, and now it will not
boot up. Note: This is a non-name brand
computer assembled by my computer
guy.

When I press the power button, I hear 3
short, fast beeps “beep-beep-beep.” I
hear the hard drive working, but noting is
displayed on the monitor. I have already
determined that the monitor works and
that another monitor does not work with
this computer. I do not hear a Windows
startup sound, but that’s probably
because Norton Utilities or something
opened up in DOS since I have turned off
the computer with out going to “Shut
Down.”

If anyone has any advice for me, I would
be extremely grateful! Do 3 beeps mean
anything in particular?
