PC100 Memory

Upgrade

I have a UMAX AMD-333 computer with the Biostar M5ALA motherboard with only 2 Dimm slots. Original memory was 2-32 meg PC66 chips. I replaced these with 2-66 meg PC100 chips. According to UMAX Tech and Biostar tech this should be a no problem. My software ACAD, MS Office, Paint Programs, etc, wont run. Tons of errors and lockups.

Also I plan to upgrade the CPU to a K6-2-500. Recently with the many thanks to the Biostar tech support staff, I was able to upgrade the bios (Required for the CPU). But no luck with the chips.

Can I swap the memory chips without the cpu? Or does the upgraded cpu affect the memory? Please Help, Help, Help?

I would appreciated any help. Thank You
