I have three computers hooked up in a peer to peer network. Two of the computers are hooked to local printers. One is an HP laser and the other is star printer, which is used to print receipts. When I came to the job, their network was down but they had been printing fine before then. I got the network back up, but now both printers are fighting over the LPT1 port. Since they are both hooked to their own lpt ports on their machines, how do I solve the conflict. The star printer works a specific program that they use on their system. When I take the star printer off the network it will print, but as soon as I print something off the laser and try to return to the star printer I get the lpt error message. Right now the system is hooked up to print everything off of the laser, but we don’t want to leave it that way. By the way, the machine that is hooked to the star printer is Win95 and the other machine is Win98. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be appreciated.
