I have a computer that used to power down automatically when I went to start/shutdown comtpuer. Now the computer just displays the “Its now safe to shutdown your computer”. The only problem with this is that, in order to turn the computer off, I have to hold the power button in for ten seconds.
My question is, is this feature handled by the chipset driver, or is there other software that handles the power off feature? If so, what part of the chipset handle’s this function, (north bridgeor south)?
Is it possible to enter a line in the Msdos.sys file that will power the system off?
