A client Presented me with a PC running Win98 SE 433MHZ Celeron Processor 100MHZ FSB
64 Mb 168 pin 100Mhz Ram.
The Problem is that executing Application is not a problem but once inside executing any of the menu Items causes the processor to work to full capacity ie. 99-100% and takes 90 second plus to perform the task such as Print Preview.
I suspect a possible noisy bus or the CPU internal Cache is the problem.
I have run numerous software diagnostic programs such as Microscope, PCCHECK and Norton Utilities and have not found any errors.
My Dilema is I don’t have a POST CARD or a spare Celeron processor. So does anyone know any other way I can check these components to see if this is where my problems lie.
Hope one of you fellow Tech heads can help.
Thanks Baz
