I am trying to install a HP Deskjet 820Cse on a Systmax P3 running Win-ME. It won’t install. No activity at all. I installed the drivers from the HP Disks. When it tries to communicate it sticks at 16% during testing. I have changed the Rs232 cable,checked the connection on the PC and Printer. Restarted both PC and Printer, Uninstalled HP Driver. ReInstalled Driver. Went to HP’s web site for a newer copy of the driver. UUUGGGHHH.
What else can I try? This is replacing a HP4050 Laser Printer.
Also, during the install. A software conflict comes up stating that hpfbkg04.exe and hpfecp04.dll are being used by another program and all other programs needs to be closed before installation can continue. Then the system freezes. I went and shut all down except for systray and explorer. But to no avail.
HELP!
