Printer problem

My sister in law has an Epson Stylus 660 colour printer which used to work fine on her laptop running Win2000.The problem is that the printer had it’s ink cartridges replaced and now all three lights on the front of the printer for paper jam,replacing the cartridge,etc are on and the printer will not work.Pressing the the buttons does nothing as the cartridges do not move.I managed to move them enough to remove the cartridges and try other ones,but I get the same result.Initially when the cartridges were replaced,only a few options were greyed out in the printer properties,but it keeps getting worse to the stage that it’s at now.Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it please?
