Printer Problem

More often than not, when I try to print a document from the internet, my printer will not work. I have an HP Bubblejet printer. If I select the print button from within the web browser, nothing will happen. Eventually an error message will appear saying: ” no default printer assigned”.
If I look under “my computer” “printers” there aren’t any printers. However if I reboot and then look, I do see the printer along with the option ” default ” selected.
Now I will be able to print to the printer from any application unless I try again to print from the internet. Why could this be.
