Printer Queue gets stalled

by somnath.mukherjee . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

I have a few HP Laser printers (4050 & 4M Plus) connected directly to an Ethernet LAN with the help of Jetdirect cards and the DLC protocol. Recently, a problem has started which has left me clueless.

The printer Q gets filled up with junk printjobs. The document name as shown in the printer q is “Remote Downlevel Document”. The Status field shows the printjob continuosly “restarting-printing-restarting”. The Owner name is a random account chosen from the NT user databese. No prints come out of the printer. All subsequent print-jobs are held up till these junk documents are purged. The NT event viewer shows message similar to the following:

“Document 188, Remote Downlevel Document owned by DEVELOPER was printed on MDO via port MDO1. Size in bytes: 0; pages printed: 0 ”

No changes have been made to the printer configuration recently. Can anybody help??
