Printing to a Network from DOS programs

I am running several DOS based programs and when they try to print I get an error message that no printer was detected on LPT1. I am using a Laserjet 5 network printer. This works fine for all other programs. Is there some type of patch to run that will redirect the programs to look at the network printer???
