Problem with small upgrade..

Umm, okay im only a student and well err… this is my problem..

I recently purchased some parts (mainly motherboard and CPU) for a long ewaited upgrade. And for some strange reason it just doesnt want to work. Windows always stuffs up (somethingabout a folder in windows) and my floppy disk drive does want to work on my Motherboard. It is an AMD K6 2 500 Mhz on a FIC VA-503+ motherboard i have a 8.01 GB HDD. Does anyone know what the problem is? (NOTE : I have tried to reinstall windows butthe installation always pauses up or i get General Protection Faults)
