I cannot play mp3 files or wave files (midi’s ok).
When I open media player I get the message: Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding.
When I try with Winamp I get the message: Could not create DirectSound object.
When I click on a wav file sound recorder opens with the message: Another application is playing audio, You can either interrupt the audio or wait until it is done. Then try using Sound Recorder again.
When I try and play a sound from Control Panel – Sounds, I get the message: cannot play ………………wav. Sound Card may be in use.
When using DirectX diagnostics I get error an message testing the sound. I have tried all manner of things to no avail and admitI’m lost in all this. What can I do?
I am running Windows 98SE on a Pentium 350 with a Creative Sound Blaster soundcard
