Proxy Server 2.0 and Mac using IE

Proxy server 2.0 and Macs using IE to connect, have had no problem connecting to the internal website – when the site was updated the clients were only able to connect via the ip address and not the url home.here.com. I have added an entry to the Host file on the server which sped up the Windows clients but the mac clients still cant connect. Any suggestions
