PS/2 mouse port no longer communitcating

After disconnecting my PS/2 mouse to open
the pc case and install a sound card, I
can’t get any PS/2 mouse to work now after
booting back up. The sound card works, I
don’t see any conflicts, the port is enabled
in bios, is there somewhere I’mnot looking
or is it possible the port went bad all of a
sudden. I can use a serial mouse.
