RAM test

A month or two ago you had a tip on how to test the RAM memmory chips on a PC. Unfortunately I did not save the tip and cannot find reference to this tip. I would like to test my RAM memmory to determine if it is healthy or not. I have 512 MB of RAMon a Prostar 8593 laptop running Windows XP. Can you help?
