After a very, very, very, long time I find myself back in the IT field. So many things have changed (I am pre windows), that it often sound like a forigen lanuage is being spoken to a tourist on a now never ending vacation. My company is going to send me to A+ a few weeks. Problem is even though I have old school programming background, and my boss and group member know this. I now have to balance what I used to know with what I should know. Even though I prove my net worth from time to time I don’t feel quite comfortable in this new IT world. I am up for the challenge, is this a case of nerves and ego? The last thing is that I came out of the Shipping and Receving part of the IS dept. Some folks are confused by this, even though I do prove my net worth. I would like to get back into development (programming), will any of the stigma last, or will I only have to get new training and experience and move on?
